How does Angel come
up with such Alpha male characters?
Wow.
That’s a really good question! I’m super glad that you think they’re so cool,
though! I love all the guys I’ve ever written. When I start creating them,
though, I don’t think, “how am I gonna make this dude…MANLY??” LOL! I usually
just sit down and have a chat with him. I ask about his past, his childhood,
the things that shaped him into being who he is…and most importantly, why the
Dominant and submissive dynamic is important to him. It’s not all about wanting
to just spank someone. It’s about A LOT of deep emotional things that are
meaningful to both people in the relationship.
Does she have any writing rituals that she does while writing?
Well,
let’s see…first I have to kiss a chicken and then pray to the moon three times.
Bwa ha ha! Sorry…I’m being a complete sassy mama, aren’t I?
Since
I still work a VERY full-time job that requires me to travel a lot, I think
I’ve learned how to carve writing time no matter where I am or what I’m doing.
Sometimes, I literally have to steal the moments! I can write on airplanes,
trains, in terminals, at the kid’s track team practice…it’s so special to me
that I grab a chance to do it whenever and wherever I can.
What types of books
does she enjoy reading in her free time or what does she like to do with her
free time?
Well,
I love to write erotic romance because I love READING it, too! Most of my
favorites are women I am super proud to know personally now. (Though you should
have seen me the first time I met Cherise Sinclair. I was pretty much
salivating all over the floor and embrassing myself.) In addition to Cherise, I
am a HUGE fan of Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob, Kallypso Masters, and many of the
HDP authors, too. Outside the genre, I read across a lot of genres. I love
Stephen King’s non-horror stuff. LOVED the Mark Owen book, “No Easy Day.” And
I’m getting ready to start “Gone Girl.”
Favorite type of music to have playing while writing?
I
SO wish I could listen to music and enjoy it while writing. But music is a
transitive experience for me. I’m SO into it when I’m listening to it that
trying to write at the same time would be REALLY hard. When I’m enjoying music,
and it makes me experience different feelings, I think to myself, “I have to
remember this so I can channel it the next time I write…” Additionally, because
words are SO important to me, then concurrently, so are song lyrics. Some of my
favorite musical artists are ones who write gorgeous lyrics. Adele is
INCREDIBLE. Matt Bellamy of Muse is a demi-god of lyrics. I also love Green
Day, The Killers, and just about every Andrew Lloyd Webber musical ever
written.
Does her family read her books?
My
sister TRIED to read “Three-Part Harmony.” She got as far as page 10 before the
“ew” factor set in. I think my mom kind of knows what I write, but we NEVER
discuss it. My husband reads a lot of my stuff. He’s my biggest fan. I so heart
him!!
Michele,
thank you so much for having me on your blog!! I’m so grateful, and I hope
everyone enjoys SAVED BY HIS SUBMISSIVE.

The W.I.L.D. Boys of Special Forces,
Book One
By: Angel Payne
Release: February 26, 2013
Make way
for the Warriors Intense in Love & Domination—the
W.I.L.D. Boys of Special Forces!
These
eight soldiers signed up for the Alpha Squad in more ways than one. They fight
for their country with every drop of passion in their bodies, and they fight
for their women even harder: with every ounce of commitment in their soul.
Book
One:
GARRETT:
The Fire Dom
Garrett Hawkins is
the most valuable asset to his Special Forces unit—because frankly, the guy
doesn’t care if he lives or dies anymore. Since the love of his life, Sage
Weston, was kidnapped and killed with her medical unit a year ago, Garrett has
turned the shell of his soul into the impenetrable armor of a finely-tuned
fighting machine. Being the first tapped for the unit’s craziest missions is
just fine by him. The less time for memories, and the agony they carve into his
soul, the better.
It’s a plan that
works—until one night, deep in the jungles of Thailand, Garrett’s world is
upended when memories become reality. The unit is called to rescue a group of
kidnapped aid workers, only the head count on the retrieval is unexpectedly
doubled. Sage and her teammate, believed dead, are very much alive. Only now
that Sage is back in his arms, Garrett doesn’t know what to do. He has changed
in dramatic and daunting ways, especially in the darker tastes of his passion.
If he touches Sage again, he’ll want to claim her, restrain her…dominate her.
Is Sage’s love
strong enough to let Garrett back in not only as her fiancé, but her Dominant?
Can she trust that visiting the new shadows of his life will lead her to
ecstasy and not ruin? Or can it be that Garrett’s discipline is exactly what
her soul needs to find its way back to life—and love—once again?
Author Bio:
Well,
hello there! My name is Angel, and I’m so happy to meet you.
Like
many, I’ve had a journey to get here.
I’ve
loved reading all my life, and have been writing nearly that long, too. I think
it started when I penned an 80-page novel about a time-traveling family for a
5th-grade school project. You could say I was hooked. In middle school, I moved
to the hardcore stuff: the paragraph-at-a-time “swap-stories” with all my
besties. (C’mon…don’t lie…you remember those too!) Needless to say, the stories
featured lots of French kissing, mindless groping and angsty drama – but I knew
I’d found a niche when I was invited to participate in several more
swap-stories on campus.
Some
years, various entertainment writing gigs and a half-dozen historical romances
later, I discovered the world of erotica – and home. (Not to mention a great
place for all that angst I never gave up.)
I love this genre – change that to love this genre – and hope my stories
speak to your heart as well as your blood pressure, as well as your courage to
explore new things and express your truth in beautiful new ways.
And
where do I do all this? Well, if you ask my hubz, he’d likely say “on another
planet,” especially if I’m in story-brewing mode! The rest of the time, I live
in Southern California with him and our gorgeous child, where I’m abnormally
interested in travel, coffee, wine, shoes, super heroes, fetish wear,
ridiculous pop culture trends – but most of all, hearing from fellow readers
and erotica lovers like you!
Remember:
play safe, love completely and never, ever be ashamed to live your truth.

Thanks for the interview. If I wrote erotic romance, my sisters would be asking me in-depth, detailed questions. They would probably want me to set-up demonstrates too. LOL! Book sounds fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI definitely would not want any of my family to read my stories if they had any sort of erotic content to them. I am actually very shy IRL, so I think most people would be shocked if they knew that I read erotic romances, they would have heart attacks/strokes if I wrote them ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the great post/interview.
Another great interview along the tour! I love the cover, this book is one I couldn't even wait until the end of the contest, LOL! I h bought it, read it, and love Garrett & Sage; looking forward to seeing them in future books! Anxiously awaiting the next book!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the contest!
