Brandee is a waitress in a bar for paranormals, but what she doesn’t know is that there is such a thing as paranormals.  When the resident psychic gives her a reading and she says the next person to walk through the door could be her one true love and in walks One-Night Nick, the man who never sees a woman more than once.  There is no way that he is her soulmate since there is no way she would be his next conquest.

Nick has a secret, he is a werewolf and when Brandee catches him changing he has to think fast.  He soon finds himself shocked to realize that she is his mate.  How is he supposed to convince her they belong together with his history and with her being human?  If he tells her what he is it will bring big trouble down on his head since they are not supposed to let humans know that paranormal beings really do exist.

Ahslyn Chase brings us the beginning of a new series which is a spinoff from her Strange Neighbors Series.  Full of humor and tons of fun Brandee and Nick will keep you interested through the whole book but then you throw in the secondary characters such as Mother Nature and you have a rip roaring entertaining time.  One bit of info on Brandee, Lactose intolerant, need I say more.  Now throw in the romance brewing between Brandee and Nick and you have the perfect romance novel.  This is one of those books that I would have bought just from the title.  I cannot wait to find out who we will get to read about next in this series, I have my suspicions and I hope that they are right.

Thousands of years ago, ten men swore their eternal allegiance as warriors to the gods.  The catch: they die and are brought back, but with no memories of previous lives, forcing them to learn fast or die trying.  This time around there are only eight warriors, and Ashor is their leader.  He's also the closest to the edge from years spent fighting.  When the gods command him to find their sacred healer, he already knows she won't want anything to do with them.  Ten years ago she appeared out of the blue, rescued him from torture, then disappeared again without a trace.  Good thing he's been tracking her, because when he finds Kira, she's being hunted by their enemies.  Stepping in to save her is the right thing to do, but she's none too happy with being dragged from her medical residency to help them fight their battles.  Too bad fate has already dictated her life, and she has no choice but to join if she doesn't want to be hunted down and killed by the enemy.  What fate can't control is her instant, primal attraction to Ashor.  Although he insists nothing can happen between them because she's their sacred healer, she's never been one for following the rules of beings she doubts exist.

This was a great book.  It follows Ashor, a warrior to the gods who's on the verge of losing his soul and going to the dark side, as it were.  The only thing that can save him is his fated mate.  Problem is, although he's found his fated mate, she's completely hands-off, so declare the gods.  If he tries, they'll both be struck down.  The sheer unfairness of it all is played out very well, as both Ashor and Kira struggle to deny their growing attraction for each other while trying to stay one step ahead of the enemy and stay alive.  It was a great love story, with enough action, excitement, and romance to keep me turning the page.

Being Me, book 2 of the Inside Out Trilogy by Lisa Renee Jones is an amazingly captivating book that entices the reader into to the same web that snares the characters in the books, that being, Rebecca’s Journals and what has become of Rebecca and who is Rebecca’s Master.  There are so many revelations, twists and surprises that it’s almost impossible to put it down.  We discover exactly who is who in Rebecca’s Journals, what caused her to leave and what became of her.  We discover dark secrets, disturbing outcomes, conflicted and confused souls, and total lunacy.  And through all of it we see Chris and Sara struggle for the love neither of them are sure they need, want or deserve but also can’t seem to stop from happening.

I was so captivated by this book I caught myself reading it while sitting at traffic lights……(probably not the smartest thing to admit eh?)  I was totally and completely stunned by some of the revelations in the story. I loved getting a look-see at how all the relationships within the story emerge over time.  And the new (*ahem*) characters who help reveal the entire saga to us were a nice surprise addition.  The ending of the book was a complete surprise in many ways that I cannot go into without spoiling it, so I will leave it to each of you to seek it out and unveil it for yourself.

Now I’m left counting the days until the last journal “The Master Undone” and the final book in the Inside Out Trilogy, “Revealing Us”

“Fascinated by the dark fantasies in the journals she’s discovered, and the two men who have now found a place in her life, Sara McMillan finds herself torn between her new life and her past. Now, more than ever, Sara identifies with the missing journal writer, Rebecca, and is certain that something sinister has happened.

In the arms of the sexy, tormented artist Chris Merit, Sara seeks answers about Rebecca and ends up discovering things about herself she never knew existed. Chris forces Sara to reconsider who she is and what she truly wants from life, but his dark desires threaten to tear them apart. Her boss, Mark Compton, offers her the shelter to understand just what those needs mean to her, and what they might have meant to Rebecca—but can she trust him to lead her to a final conclusion to Rebecca’s story?”

Review: Rebecca's Lost Journals Volume 4, My Master by Lisa Renee Jones

PRICE / TYPE: .99 eBook

GENRE: Romantic Erotic Suspense
RELEASE DATE: May 20, 2013

Oh the limits “Master” has pushed Rebecca to……….  Volume 4 begins a little more than a year after the last entry of Volume 3, His Submissive.

In Volume 4 Rebecca seems to be having a harder and harder time accepting this situation that she has followed her Master into.  Her nightmares have returned, and while she does whatever her Master wants her to, and enjoys it at the time, she seems to have a very difficult time of dealing with the after effects.

When Rebecca’s emotional pot starts to boil over I find myself hating her “Master” while he can be charming and caring somewhat, he also declared to her back before she agreed to the contract that “to upset you is to fail you”, yet he’s obviously misses exactly how upset Rebecca really is.

Rebecca finally begins to admit to herself her true feelings about the entire situation and also about what her Master’s true feelings are.  As a result, Rebecca is finally putting her foot down, and going to “embrace taking care of herself again”.

As with all the Volumes we are right there with Rebecca and her emotions, we feel her love, her pain, her sorrow, her strength and resolve as she makes the difficult decisions necessary for her happiness.

Volume 3 of Rebecca’s Lost Journals spans about a week or so of Rebecca’s entries.  Through her thoughts we gain insight into all the players in the Trilogy (Ricco, Chris, Mary, Mark, Ava, etc.) and especially into “him” who at this point I am coming to not like very much.  I’m finding him to be manipulative at his attempts at convincing Rebecca to become his submissive.

Rebecca’s lessons continue and finally they get down to discussing actual aspects of “The Contract” and then…………….Rebecca really gets a true taste of what this choice and lifestyle will be like.

We continue to go through all of Rebecca’s emotions right along with her, because that is what these journals do, they pull you right into her emotional grid.

Toxic love.  Blind love.  Lasting love.   You will be hit in the heart by “Bullet”. Jade C. Jamison hooked me on the very first page. The reader follows Valerie as she recalls her bond with the men of “Bullet” and her life as a rock star, but what you won’t be prepared for is the raw emotions that you will feel.

Valerie starts with her freshman year of college away from school in hopes of spreading her wings and finding herself, but without a major her compass spins without direction.  Stepping out of her comfort zone, she sits behind the hot enigma in her history class forcing herself to speak to him.  They discover their love of heavy metal music and she becomes his bands biggest fan and not long after their front woman.

Emotions run high between Valerie and Ethan as lines become blurred and complicated between them.  So when Valerie meets “Bullet” and Brad, the electricity sparks a different emotion, but is grounded because of Ethan.  As Ethan’s best friend, Brad will never make a move on his friend’s girl, but makes his place as her confidant.

The bands popularity rises it brings out the worse in some, while others learn the depth of love and understanding.

Jade C. Jamison is proud to say she is a metal head and proves that with this book.  Hooked on the first page, I read it in one day.  I could not put it down.  The hot sex will make you burn, but the crushing emotions will break your heart.  If you love a smoking hot rock band story with well thought out character development and great musical references,  I highly recommend Bullet.
