Interview and giveaway with author Tara Sue Me

How did you get started writing?
I started writing as a child, actually hand wrote my first novel when I was twelve. Seventy-five pages. Wish I knew where those pages where today! I dabbled a bit in high school, but stopped when I entered college. Then came jobs and marriage and children…I didn’t write again until I was in my early thirties.

Where do you find inspiration for her stories?
I find inspiration everywhere! I make sure there’s always a notebook in my purse. Interesting enough, I have most of my ideas hit me while I’m on vacation.

What do you read in her down time?
As long as it’s a good story, I read ANYTHING. Currently, I’m reading The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay. Before that it was Kristen Callihan’s Firelight. And I’m waiting (not so patiently) for the next Jonathan Grave thriller from John Gilstrap.

Are there any writing rituals? Fav slippers, type of music?
First of all I have to get the kids to bed, because sexy times are hard to write while iCarly is on. Next I have to move a dog or two out of my comfy chair (there are three other chairs, why do they always pick mine?). I prefer to be in my pjs, but then again, I’d prefer to be in pjs period, so I’m not sure that counts.

But, you know, in a pinch, I can and have written anywhere: doctor’s office, subway, ballet practice.

Are you still affiliated with the writer's coffee shop?
I’ve never been affiliated with The Writer’s Coffee Shop.

The Submissive by Tara Sue Me

Release Date: November 16, 2012
Genre: Romance, Erotic, BDSM
Publisher: Red Publishing
Length: 333 Pages

Blurb:
Abby King has a secret fantasy.

The city of New York knows Nathaniel West as CEO of his father's corporation, but Abby knows he's more. He's also a Dominant and when she hears he's looking for a new submissive, she decides it's time to do something about that fantasy.

After one weekend with Nathaniel, Abby knows she needs more. Nathaniel is equal parts stern Master and polite gentlemen. He can drive her to new heights of pleasure while at the same time nurture her novice submissive spirit.

But though he can command her body, her heart isn't as easily controlled and she finds herself drawn more and more to the man whose collar she wears. At times she feels she is making progress in thawing his cool demeanor, but then just as quickly, he once more hides behind his carefully constructed wall.

Abby believes her relationship with Nathaniel can encompass the best of both worlds, that they can be beautiful together. But Nathaniel lives by a set of rules that don't allow for negotiation and she fears he'll never see the truth of what they could be. And though he is careful with her body, he just might end up breaking her heart.

While posted online, The Submissive garnered almost three million hits. Its characters and storyline captivated an entire fandom and inspired a multitude of BDSM fiction. It has now been edited and reworked for a broader audience. The Submissive is part one of a trilogy which attracted more than 8.5 million hits online, and a journey that proves everything is better with love.

  1. Oh. This sounds absolutely wonderful! I am so putting this on my TBR list and happy for the chance to win a copy. BDSM romance and fiction is my favorite genre. There is nothing better than desire's edge and the titillation of the power exchange.

Congrats on the success of your trilogy and I am looking forward to reading it.
