We are
back in the real estate world of Ann Arbor, Michigan with Sara and Jack. Things are looking ok for the couple, they
are getting married, planning the wedding, went on a wonderful trip, when it
all falls apart. Why in the hell Jack
lets it happen still confuses me.
Both Jack
and Sara find temporary solace in the company of another, while Jack tries to
rebuild some sort of connection with Sara.
Sara keeps her distance but allows Jack in just a bit with long nightly
phone conversations.
Meanwhile
all their friends involve themselves in trying to help in some way or
another. Sara’s brother Blake is happy
she’s away from Jack but sad over her unhappiness, and his over protectiveness
is now causing waves in his own relationship, which we get a little look into
in this second installment.
The
shocking ending of this book had me wanting to beat the living crap out of both
Sara and Jack. I find myself wanting to
scream at them to get their heads of out their asses. They are too damn stubborn for their own good
and it’s frustrating and I find my emotions changing along with the characters
emotions.
Liz’s
books are definitely an emotional roller coaster ride. Her tag line “Romance for Real Life” is very
accurate and says it all about her books.
She puts real life emotions, doubts, confidences, etc. into her stories
and the outcome is not always “Love Conquers All” just like in real life love
does not conquer all.
I’m in a
love/hate relationship with this series right now. The chemistry between Jack and Sara is
amazing; most of the men in these books are rip your panties off hot. But the frustration at Jack and Sara’s
stubbornness really makes me grit my teeth sometimes. But it’s the above combination that keeps me
coming back for more, I can’t wait to dive into book 3 and see if Jack and Sara
finally start working on things instead of fighting them.
Drue gives this book
