As the leader of the Resistance, Reena must be wary of everyone she comes in contact with, especially men.  But when she meets Will, she can't fight the instant attraction to this sexy stranger.  They fall into bed for a night of unforgettable sex, then she disappears.  Months later, they meet up again, but this time it's not for sex.  Will is an assassin, and his next target is Reena.  When Cade steps in and saves her, she's grateful--until she learns he's a bounty hunter, come to collect her and turn her in.  She refuses and runs away, only to be caught by a group of hunters.  When both Will and Cade rescue her, she begins to think men aren't all bad.  Stuck in a cabin during a snowstorm, she nurses her two rescuers back to health, thinking of how great it would be to be sandwiched between these two hot, hard bodies.  And once they are healed, she finds that reality is so much better than fantasy.

This book shows a grim future where a deadly virus has killed off most woman, and those left alive are stripped of their rights and treated little better than breeders and slaves.  Reena's trying to change that, and as the leader of the Resistance, is constantly being hunted down.  When she meets Will and Cade, she begins to wish for things she can never have.  This was a chilling glimpse into a possible future, but along with despair there's hope.  We see that there are still good men, and who can resist lots of steamy m/f/m action.  I had no problem reading this as a standalone in the series.
