Caitlin has worked hard to become one of the best agents in the Vampire Control Unit.  A Shadow Reader, she has the ability to read the innermost secrets of vampires and shifters, which makes her a rare and valuable member of the team.  Her obsession is Kane, a sexy but deadly master vampire several others before her have unsuccessfully tried to bring down in the past.  A monster he may be, but Caitlin has a second reason for tracking him down--he may be the last hope she has of staying alive.  Her parents died seven years apart to the day, and she knows whatever killed them is coming for her next.  To survive, she must make a deal with Kane, one that goes against everything she believes in.  If she doesn't, she won't be alive long enough to regret her mistake.
