Angelica Carew is involved in a boating accident and when she awakens finds that she is married to the man who rescued her.  Although he is a stranger to her she falls in love with him.

Renold Harden has a plan to get his families plantation back from the cheating gambler who won it in a game of chance with his step-father.  The best way to get it back and also seek revenge against the man who destroyed his family is to marry his daughter.

When Angelica discovers the truth she now must make a choice between the man she loves or returning to the life she knew before Renold.

Jennifer Blake has taken us on a journey that starts on the river and ends in Louisiana and delivers a pleasurable and awe-inspiring story.  The chemistry between Angelica and Renold was a passionate love that took them both by surprise.  I will admit there were parts of the book that I felt were slow and I had a hard time getting through them.  But, I have always been a reader of Ms. Blake’s and will continue to read her books for the great adventures she takes her readers on.
