Lucy, her twin brother, Alex and his best friend Nick have been inseparable all their lives. Secretly, Lucy has crushed on Nick, but always considered the little sister type her feelings were never reciprocated. Even after Alex arranges for a date between the two, only to have it fail miserably Lucy never loses hope. Despite Alex and Nick's playboy ways with a revolving door of women, her feelings never falter.
Always trying to please his sister, Alex sets Nick up on a blind date with Lucy. Needless to say, Nick was not happy to see Lucy, but she manages to convince him to give her a ride home, only to have disaster strike again. On a deserted back road, Lucy takes advantage of the situation and makes her fantasy a reality. Little does Lucy know, Nick has feelings for her as well.
As their flirting escalates, they fight their feelings for each other because of Alex and how he will react. Lucy decides to play hard to get and tells Nick the sex would be just for learning and wants to experiment with someone she trusts. Nick plans a weekend away, both telling Alex different stories to create a cover. By the end of their weekend, it wasn't just a learning experience for Lucy, as Nick discovered a few things for himself.
This was such a fun read. The flux between wanting and hating each other, Lucy and Nick created a slow burn between them, until not even Alex could extinguish the fire. Each bringing to the relationship baggage that contributed to their behavior, they needed to reevaluate their role within the friendship in order for it to survive.
