Today
we have with us Ellora’s Cave author Shoshanna Evers who we had the great
pleasure of meeting at EC Romanticon in Akron,
OH recently. Thank you Shoshanna for
joining us at EC week!!
Can
you tell us a little about your upcoming release Bedhead?
Thanks
for having me, Annette. Bedhead is
part of the new multi-author Ellora’s Cave Skin Deep Series. The heroine has
been bald most of her life as a result of a medical condition, and she’s so self-conscious
about it that she’s still a virgin. The book focuses on how her sex life heats
up when she’s ready to let go of her insecurities and take control of her sex
life.
I
know it seems these two questions are always asked but readers and future writers
like to know. What do you like most
about writing? What do you dislike about it?
I
love losing myself in another world. Anything can happen if I just type it…I
can go places I’ve never been, do things I’ve never done (ahem), and fall in
love over and over again with each of my characters. As for what I dislike
about writing, I’d say the back pain I tend to experience after sitting hunched
over my computer for hours at a time. I think I need to buy a better chair,
LOL.
Who
or what inspired you to begin writing?
I’ve
always loved reading, and that’s what inspired me to write. I have “books” that
I handwrote on lined school paper and stapled on the sides. They all start with
“Chapter One” even though they might be about three handwritten pages each. So
I’ve been writing for a while J
What
can we look forward to next from you?
After Bedhead, I’ve got a trilogy of short
novellas called The Dominatrix Fantasy Series coming up: Spanked, Denied, and Collared.
I’ll be releasing all three at once for my readers who read fast and don’t like
to wait for the next in a series, LOL. The series follows the same couple at
different stages in their relationship, however each book stands alone as well.

You
also have an advice column. What is the craziest question you have ever had?
I
don’t think any question is overly crazy in the sense that most of the
questions I pick to answer are relatable to many people. They’re about problems
in the family or relationships or at work, that sort of thing. The really crazy
questions are the ones I can’t print in the newspaper, and are usually sexual
in nature. But as erotic as my fiction gets, my advice column is more of a
general all-audiences thing.
When
you get some down time what would we find you doing?
Down
time? What is this down time you speak of? LOL I run after my toddler all day,
and I write at night. If I decide to completely relax and do “nothing” then I’m
reading. I love to read more than I love to write, and that’s saying a lot
because I really love to write.
Who
are some fellow authors you enjoy reading?
Oh
gosh, I get this question a lot. I used to start listing my favorite authors,
but since many of my favorite authors are also my friends, the line gets fuzzy
regarding recommendations. I also risk hurting someone’s feelings if I don’t
list them, and even if I love their books I may forget. One way to guess some
of my favorite erotica authors is to look at the authors I picked to be in my
non-fiction writing book How to Write Hot Sex: Tips from Multi-Published
Erotica Authors. Those girls really know what they’re talking about.
Any
advice you would like to give to future authors?
Yes!
First, read in your genre. Second, read about writing. If you write romance or
erotica then you might find my book How to Write Hot Sex helpful (it’s
available in ebook and in print). Third, get on Twitter and search the hashtag
#amwriting and #pubwrite to find some like-minded writers. Fourth, get a
critique group. And finally, if you love writing then don’t give up. At the
same time, don’t self-publish the first thing you write, because the tenth
thing you write is going to be much better, and you don’t want to lose your
readership before your career has even started.
How
can readers learn more about you and your books?
You
can go to my website and sign up for my newsletter, follow me on Twitter (@ShoshannaEvers)

Thank
you Shoshanna for your time both at Romanticon and here today I look forward to
seeing you again at Romanticon next year.

you so much for having me! I’m giving away an e-copy of Bedhead to one commenter, so please leave your email address and
