Review: Dragon Actually by G.A. Aiken

Dragon Actually
Dragon Kin #1
by: G.A. Aiken
$6.99 mass market paperback
Zebra Books
Paranormal Romance
Released: September 2008

When Annwyl the Bloody is attacked and gravely wounded, she's saved by the most  unexpected of creatures...a dragon.  But although the dragon could cook and eat her without a thought, he nurses her back to health instead.  With the dragon, Annwyl feels safer than she has in years.

When the dragon learns she's at war with her brother, he offers the help of a knight he knows to train her for battle.  What she doesn't expect are the carnal feelings she has for the knight, nor the guilt that makes her feel like she's somehow betraying the dragon.

Just when she thinks things couldn't get any weirder, she meets the dragon's family.  Talk about dysfunctional.  And when the dragon reveals his secret to her, she knows her life is about to change...forever.

This is my second time reading this series and I absolutley love it.  G.A. Aiken is in my top five romance authors mostly due to the humor she puts in her books.  The dragon and his family have issues that would make a therapist run away screaming in fright.  The character interaction is brilliant, and you instantly fall in love with them.

Although each book in the series is about a different couple, the word that came to mind while reading book 5 was "Saga."  She hasn't written a series, she's written a sweeping story of dragons and tyrants, of the brave men and woman who hold back the darkness and of love everlasting.  All the characters are part of each story, and in her books you get to follow them through their lives.  There's too much to say about this series so I'll just sum up by saying, Read Them.  Love Them.
