Saturday marks Day Two of the Ellora's Cave Romanticon, and it was still going strong. After waking up late and grabbing breakfast, we went and listened to a panel of editors talk about their do's and dont's, as well as what they're looking for. After it was over, we were able to sit down and talk with Kahli Reid, one of the editors. We'll have the interview with her post at a later date, so don't you worry.
Later in the day, we got ready for the futuristic party. Annette decided on steampunk for her costume while I (putting it off until the last minute) cobbled something together and went for a pregnant bounty hunter.
After a yummy dinner Ellora's Cave had an awards ceremony to honor the authors under their label. It was great to see so many of our favorites who were recognized for their hard work and dedication. Then it was outside to watch the fire show that got postponed yesterday due to rain.
After we came inside and warmed up, the winner was announced for the first annual Alpha Caveman contest. The winner got $1000, a big photo ad opportunity with a large magazine, plus lots of other fringe benifits I can't remember right now. And the winner is...Angelo!
Sunday is the book signing and SEXporium, where you can buy books and have authors sign them. It's a free event that takes place from noon to four. The cavemen will be performing as well as the burlesque and pole dancers. Tomorrow night marks the end of Romanticon 2011, although Annette and I will be leaving in the early afternoon. It's been a blast here this year, and I'm glad I came. Seeing the hot guys and meeting the authors and seeing the hot guys and talking to the readers and seeing the hot guys (wipes drool off of mouth). Yeah, it's been great but I'll be happy to be home again with my family.
Keep your eyes open because in honor of the Romanticon convention we're planning a week of reviews and interviews focused solely on Ellora's Cave. We'll let you know once we pick a date.
