Violet Malone loved undercover police work so when the Vampire High King Victor asked her to do a job that required her to go undercover she was totally on board. When she found out that the assignment involved infiltrating the Werewolf Mafia in order to find out what the alpha, Jesse James was up to she was scared at first but she put on her "big girl panties" and went forth with the assignment.

Black Jack Heckle, one of Jesse's enforcers wants out of the life. Jesse talked/paid Jack into this new "change" that required him to take a serum that the Zombie King Seth and his mad scientists created as the closest thing to being free from the mafia. Unaware that the "change" took away the ability to shift into werewolf form Jack took the serum. Now he can shift into something far scarier.

Victor suggests that Violet gets close to Jack and ask him for his help in infiltrating the Werewolf Mafia. After explaining some things to Jack he finally but reluctantly agrees to help her out and takes her to see his alpha.

As the investigation got more and more in depth things heated up between Jack and Violet. Eventually Violet and Jack find out what the alpha Jesse James is planning to attack the vampires and start a new war. So Jack and Violet try to prevent it from happening by going to some of the other shifters like Jack who are a key part of Jesse's plan and tells them to choose a side.

In the end Jack has a choice to make either return to his pack life or accept who and what he is now. The only thing Jack knew no matter the choice is that he wants Violet to be by his side.
