Grayson has one thing on her mind - revenge against the mage who destroyed her life.  So when the opportunity presents itself she takes it, only to be stopped by an imposing demon with smoldering eyes and a chiseled body.

Durian is impressed with Grayson's determination, but since he's charged with keeping the peace between the mages and the demons, he can't allow her to kill the mage.  What he can do is show her how to control the wild magic coursing through her veins.  For a price, that is.

Grayson is shocked when Durian offers to teach her to wield her magic, but in return wants her magically bound to him.  She doesn't see the harm, even though the attraction she feels for him is both dangerous and wrong.

Now the two must learn to work together and quickly, for there are forces at work determined to use Grayson's magic for their own evil ends, and they'll stop at nothing to see their goals reached.

This is the third book in the Immortal series, and Carolyn Jewel only gets better and better.  The world is well-laid and believable, and both Grayson and Durian are plagued with enough heartache to make me want to give them both a big hug.  After being captured by an evil mage, Grayson escapes and vows revenge.  She doesn't plan to stop until he's dead, knowing that will be the only way to finally lay the past to rest.  But once she meets Durian, she begins to realize that revenge isn't always the answer.  As he shows her how to use the untamed magic she possesses, she finds herself drawn to this sexy uptight demon.  But once her life is on the line, will she be able to trust him to back her up?  This was a dark, steamy novel, with enough sexual tension and character bantering to keep me eagerly turning the pages.
