Because of her research on dragons, Lorran's given a wide berth by the townsfolk.  So when a troop of the king's guards bring her a man ravaged by a dragon's bite, she's both thrilled at their trust in her, and grieved by the wound.  For she knows better than most the hopelessness of the situation.  She vows to do her best, hoping it will be enough, and that this time she can figure out a way to save him before it's too late.

A seasoned dragonslayer, Kei is shocked when he wakes up to find his fate sealed by the wound in his chest.  In two weeks' time, he'll turn into one of the beasts he's hunted all his life.  The one bright spot is Lorran, who cares for his wounds, uncaring of who he is and what he'll become.

As the days go by, the attraction between them grows, until Kei is nearly out of his mind with lust for Lorran.  But knowing his fate, can he risk succumbing to the fire burning between them?
