$7.99 mass market paperback
Pocket Books
Paranormal Romance
Released: August 2008

Marrok has endured centuries of anguish because of a curse from Morganna.  And when he sees Olivia, a descendant of the hateful Morganna, he's overcome with rage.  He abducts her and tries to force her to undo the curse, only to find it's not hate he feels for her at all, but an all-consuming lust.

One look at the mighty warrior brings Olivia to her knees.  The passion between them is undeniable, but she knows if she's not careful, Marrok will leave her heart in tatters.

For there's a book, one that holds the power to end the world if it falls into the wrong hands.  The book also holds the curse that binds Marrok to his immortal life.  It's a race against time to break the curse, for an ancient evil has arisen, one intent on harnessing the power of the book for his own.  If he succeeds, then all will die.

Carla says:

This book took me a bit to get into, but once I did, that was it.  I had to force myself to put the book down to sleep, and now that I've finished, I can't wait to read the next one in the series.  About the only thing that bothered me what the characters would overlook something important that was said, only to react to it in a later scene.  Kind of took the shock value out of what was being revealed.
Other than that, I enjoyed the story, and I can't wait to find out what the villian has in store for them next.

Annette says:

I was not sure what to expect with this book since I have not read many books with magic involved.  But once I started I had to finish it and bought book two before I even finished this one.  The passion between Marrock and Olivia is so powerful and shows that love can overcome anything even a curse.  Wonderfully written and of course leaves you needing to know what happens next.  I have become a fan of Shayla Black.
