A mechanic working on a deep space rig, Dawn's ship is taken captive by a group of cyborgs. After an effort to escape goes horribly wrong, she's blackmailed into becoming a slave to one of the gray skinned bastards. One glimpse at Iron's chiseled body, however, has her thinking that life as a slave may not be all bad...

Iron's used to being in control of his life, but one look at his fiery redheaded slave and he knows life will never be simple again.

She might surrender to his expert caresses, but she refuses to be controlled. As she's sucked deeper and deeper into his world, she realizes there's nowhere else she'd rather be. She's determined to make him see that loving a human isn't the taboo he once thought, and there are plenty of ways for her to prove it. Maybe if she starts with her tongue...

Any book with the word “space” in in is guaranteed to peak my interest, and I was delighted when this book held my attention through the end. The love scenes were steamy and believable, without being overdone. I was intrigued by the concept of a cyborg with the ability to feel human emotions, and Laurann Dohner did a great job blending the concept into a believable love story.

The lengths Dawn was willing to go to in order to stay with Iron pulled on your heartstrings. True love is about overcoming any obstacles to stay with the one you care about, and Dawn did an amazing job proving her love for Iron. And it took Iron a bit to warm up to her, but as a cyborg who'd been loathed and treated like an object his whole life, it wasn't much of a surprise. But Dawn proved that not only was there was a heart in the cyborg, after all, but that happily ever afters do exist.
